Overview
Text Input (Multi line) gives the technician a box that grows as they type. Use it for work descriptions, findings and comments.
Step by step: add a multi-line text field
- Select the section it belongs in.
- Click Text Input (Multi line) under + Add Fields.
- Type the question in Heading, for example “Describe the work carried out”.
Its own setting
- Example text (used in previews) - sample text, several lines if you like, for judging the layout in the previews. It is never saved.
It also has the settings most fields share.
On the phone and the report
The phone shows a multi-line box. The report prints the answer with its line breaks kept.
Tips
- Say what you want in the heading. “Describe any defects found, and where” gets better answers than “Comments”.
- Mark it mandatory only when an answer is always needed. A required “Comments” box gets filled with “nil”.
