Add materials & products to a job

Record the stock you used on a job, or raise a purchase order for parts.

Last updated 4 Oct 2026

Overview

Materials you use go on a materials record against the job, one line per product. A purchase order works the same way, with a supplier added. Both are saved to your accounting system.

The Job Materials screen with its Add line items buttons

Where to start

  • From the job - open it, go to the Create tab, and tap Add Stock Item for materials or Create Purchase Order for an order. The job is filled in for you.
  • From the home screen - tap Enter Job Materials or Create Purchase Order, then choose the job with Select Job.

Your company decides which of these buttons you have.

Step by step: record materials on a job
  1. Open the materials screen from the job or the home screen.
  2. Check the Date and the Job No.
  3. Under Add line items, tap Add Product.
  4. Choose the Product, set the Quantity (the +1, +5 and +0.5 buttons help), and tap Add.
  5. Repeat for each product, then tap Save.

Purchase orders

A purchase order adds a Supplier. Tap Select Supplier, or type a Supplier Name for one that is not on the list. The Purchase Order No. is filled in when the order is saved.

Once an order has been saved and posted, it gains Email To Supplier and Print buttons.

Note

Create Workshop/Van PO on the home screen is the same screen without a job, for restocking the van or workshop.

Without signal

Materials and orders saved offline are kept on the phone. They are sent automatically when you are back online and next open the home screen, and until then they show under Unsaved Transactions in View Transactions. See Troubleshoot stuck submissions.

Troubleshooting

  • A product is not in the list. Search by part of its code or name. If it is still missing, it is not set up in your accounting system yet; ask the office.
  • There are no line-item buttons. Your company records materials without lines. Use the Notes box to say what you used.
  • There is no Email To Supplier button. It appears only once the order has been saved and posted.
