The Settings screen
Every section of Settings on the phone, and what each control changes.
Settings is where you change how the app looks and behaves on your phone. Choices here affect this phone only; your company’s settings are made in the office.
Step by step: open Settings
- Tap the gear at the top right of any screen.
- On the Dashboard layout, tap the menu button there instead, then Settings.
Settings is a list of sections. Tap a section’s heading to open or close it.
Layout
- Tradie Classic / Tradie Light - the app’s look. See Change theme & dark mode.
- Dark Mode - darker colours, with either look.
- Home screen - Classic list or Dashboard. See The Dashboard home screen.
- Zoom Level - drag the slider to make text larger or smaller, then tap Save Zoom Level.
Permissions
- Location Tracking - turn the app’s use of your location on or off.
- Notifications - turn push notifications on or off. See Push notifications.
- Worklog Reminders - a reminder at 6pm if you started work on a job and have not stopped it.
- Install App - add Tradie to your home screen so it opens like any other app.
- Share - a QR code a workmate can scan to get the app on their phone.
Security
Shows who the app has stored sign-in details for, with Remove Credentials to clear them. Use it before handing the phone to someone else.
Manage Cache
The lists the app keeps on the phone - jobs, products, customers and so on - one button each, coloured by how fresh it is. Tap one to fetch it again. See Troubleshoot slow connections.
Recent Items
The items you used recently. Tap to clear the history.
Remote Help
If your company uses it, Get Remote Help lets support see your screen while you talk to them. See Remote help.
Storage and troubleshooting sections
The last sections - such as Storage Info and Remote Debug Logging - are tools for support. Some of them delete things that have not been sent yet, so only use them when the office or support asks you to.
