Settings & Setup Wizard

Module configuration and the guided Tradie Setup Wizard.

Last updated 23 Oct 2026

Overview

Two related screens: Settings, where every switch and default value in Tradie lives, and the Setup Wizard, a guided checklist for getting a new tenant set up properly.

Settings

The Settings (module configuration) screen

Grouped by category, with a search box that filters by category, setting name or description as you type. Each setting renders the right control automatically - a checkbox for on/off switches, a dropdown for choices like the default job status or job type, a text field for labels, or a number field for things like the timesheet lunch-break duration. Changes here apply immediately - there’s no separate save step.

Everyone gets the change straight away

Saving a setting reaches every Scheduler that is already open, without anyone reloading. If a colleague has the calendar up on the other side of the office, their copy picks the change up where they are.

So the old habit of telling people to refresh after a settings change is no longer needed - and if somebody reports that a setting ‘did not take’, a stale page is no longer the explanation.

Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard screen

A guided checklist that appears automatically for admins when a tenant isn’t fully set up yet - Company Info, Users, Products, Equipment, Labour Codes, Job Statuses, Customers, Suppliers, H&S Hazards and H&S Controls. Each task shows whether it’s done, with a button to Open it (or Review it again once complete).

Step by step: work through the wizard
  1. Open Setup Wizard from the hamburger menu (or let it appear automatically).
  2. Click Open on the first incomplete task - it launches the matching settings screen directly.
  3. Set it up, then return to the wizard - the task now shows as done.
  4. Repeat down the list, or close the wizard and come back to it later from the menu.
Note

Clicking Close stops the wizard appearing by itself - for every admin on the tenant, not just you. It doesn’t come back on its own, even if tasks are still open. To pick it up again, open Setup Wizard from the hamburger menu. It’s also in the header menu until every task is done.
