Recurring jobs
Set a maintenance job up once and let Tradie raise it on schedule, every time.
Routine and maintenance work does not need re-entering every time. Set the pattern once and Tradie creates the job automatically when it comes round, ready to be booked like any other.
The list
Every template shows its Job Title, Customer, Start Date, End Date, Next Run and Repeats pattern. Click a column heading to sort by it.
Each row has Edit, Delete and Process Now, and the header carries Add Recurring Job and a To PDF button.
Step by step: set up a recurring job
- Click Add Recurring Job.
- Enter the Job Title and Job Description.
- Search for the Customer, then pick the Customer Item if the work is on a particular piece of their equipment.
- Choose the Job Type, the Location and who it is Assigned To.
- Set the Start Date and End Date for the run of occurrences.
- Set Next Run - the date the first job should be created.
- Choose the Interval - Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly - and Repeat Every for how often, such as every 2 weeks.
- Tick Append Month Name if you want the month added to each job’s title.
- Save.
From then on Tradie creates a job each time the schedule comes round, and Next Run moves forward on its own. New jobs land in the jobs list under Pending.
Raising one early
Process Now creates the job straight away without waiting for its date. Tradie asks what to do with the schedule:
- Process & Push Date creates the job and moves Next Run forward, so the cycle carries on from here.
- Process Only creates the job and leaves Next Run where it was, so the scheduled occurrence still happens.
Use Process Only for a one-off extra visit, and Process & Push Date when you are simply doing this month’s job early.
Tips
- Append Month Name is worth turning on for monthly servicing. It makes the jobs list readable at a glance instead of showing the same title twelve times.
- A template with an End Date stops on its own. There is no need to go back and delete it.
