Projects
Group jobs by the project they belong to, so a team member picks a project first.
A business running one big site raises dozens of jobs against it, and a team member picking from a flat list of hundreds has to know the job number to find anything. Turn on Project Mode and they choose the project first, then the job within it.
What a project is here
It is Infusion Elite’s own project record - the same projects your office already sets up in Infusion, with the same names. Tradie reads them; it does not keep its own list, so there is nothing to maintain twice.
Turning it on
In Settings → Mobile Project Mode, two ticks, both off by default:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Project Mode | Team members choose a project before a job on the screens below |
| Order Jobs by Name | Lists the jobs within a project by name rather than by number |
With Project Mode off, every screen behaves exactly as it did before.
Where a team member meets it
The project step appears on the screens where they pick a job:
- Timesheet - logging time
- Materials and Purchase Orders
- All Jobs - which shows one project at a time, with a Change link to go back
Each starts at the project list and then shows that project’s jobs. Their own bookings and allocations are in there too - they are jobs, so they belong to projects like any other.
Which projects they see
Only projects with at least one job currently in progress. A project whose jobs are all finished has nothing to offer and does not appear.
“In progress” means the statuses your business has ticked as WIP in Job statuses - so if you count Waiting on Parts as live work, those projects keep showing up.
The project is not remembered between visits. Every time they go to pick a job they start at the project list.
That is deliberate, and it was tried the other way first: remembering it put a team member who had moved to another site back into last week’s project, and they had to notice before picking a job out of the wrong one.
In the office
Two things on the Scheduler use the same projects:
- The jobs list has a Project filter, beside Job Type, Job Status and Assigned To. It offers the projects present in the jobs you are looking at, so it can never filter you down to an empty list.
- A job’s project can be changed on the Edit Job dialog, alongside its name, description and assigned user. That list comes from Infusion and leaves out projects retired there, since it is answering “where could this job go?”
