Stock on hand in the product picker
Show technicians what is actually held at their location before they pick a product.
Tradie can bring per-location stock figures across from your accounting system and show them in the mobile product picker, so a technician sees what is on the shelf at their own branch rather than guessing.
The two settings
Both live under Job Materials Settings in module settings, and both start off.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show In Stock Quantity | Adds the quantity held at the technician’s location to each row of the product picker. It never changes which products are listed. |
| Show In Stock Products Only | Limits the picker to products with more than none at that location. |
They work independently. Showing figures without filtering is a reasonable setup, and so is filtering without showing figures.
Step by step: switch stock figures on
- Open Users and make sure each technician has a Location set. The figure shown is the one for their own location.
- Open module settings from the hamburger menu.
- Under Job Materials Settings, switch on Show In Stock Quantity.
- Switch on Show In Stock Products Only as well if technicians should only see what is in stock.
What the technician sees
Each row in the product picker gains a line reading In stock: with the quantity and when that figure was true. Figures refresh hourly, so the time stamp matters - it is a recent snapshot, not a live reading.
If they enter more than is held, Tradie tells them how much there is and asks them to reduce the quantity.
A product with no figure at all shows nothing, rather than zero. Blank and zero mean different things: blank is “your accounting system did not report this”, and only a reported figure is ever used to hold a line up.
Limitations
- Purchase orders are never filtered. Ordering something you hold none of is the normal case, so Show In Stock Products Only applies to job materials only.
- Negative stock counts as not in stock.
- Infusion Online and Infusion Elite only. Infusion Elite also needs a connector new enough to report stock; an older one reports nothing and every product passes through untouched.
- A technician with no location set sees the full catalogue with no figures.
